Cold, sunny and no wind.

I don’t know about you but, the last couple of days nearly “blew me away”.  I am not talking “awesome” I am talking WINDY.  Have you ever heard that a tornado sounds like a train?  I was sitting on my couch Thursday reading and I thought a big bunch of planes were flying overhead.  I listened but the sound wasn’t going anywhere, like flying on by.  It kept on and on.  Then I looked out my window and the bamboo was moving in such a manner that it looked like someone had it by the bottom shaking the fire out of it.  I got up and went outside and it was the wind.  I don’t remember it blowing so hard for so long before.   _DSC0047 copyI looked down and Gunner was sleeping through all that wind in a rubber garden basket.  That cat is such a source of joy and happiness in my day that I am very thankful he found my house and decided to stay.  Three other kittens showed up right after he came but, two of them left.  The one that did stay is pretty wild.  She comes when there is food and has licked my hand but, I can’t put my hand on her.  Cats are individuals and have their own ways of being, much like us.

There had been water standing all over _DSC0049 copymy yard but, when I went out this morning I found puddles that now looked like this.  I am always saying how I am amazed by nature and, it’s true.  I see things daily that boggle my mind.  Okay, I know that’s not hard to do but, give me a break.  If I have to be “simple-minded” to notice the wonders of nature then, “simple-minded” I am.

_DSC0049 copy2This part of the puddle froze like a weird shaped star.  You probably can’t tell from my photograph but, it is dimensional.  I wonder if the wind is responsible for the water freezing like this.

I will try to proof read this post closer than the last one when I screwed up the Irish blessing.  When I was growing up going to church I remember a hymn.  It starts like this :Open my eyes, that I may see, glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;  place in my hands the wonderful key that shall unclasp and set me free.  My camera is the key that lets me share these glimpses with you.  Look around you today and BEHOLD!  Melanie
