Have you ever had a pet that had to be right in the middle of everything that is going on? We have this cat named Gunner and he is the overseer of all that happens. We still don’t have water but, we are hopeful we will today. Pat was out with the guys yesterday looking into the three-foot deep trench they had dug when Gunner hopped onto her back. He was perfectly content to lie there and survey all that was being done. They followed the line up from the meter to the gas tank and stopped. They found the gas line from the tank to the house and began digging from the trench along the side of the house towards the tank from the opposite direction.
Gunner could see that they were doing a good job so they kept digging. It was beginning to get late and the guys were really tired since they had been digging in mud. They feel sure that they will get it fixed today. I really hope so because, as they say, I am beginning to ‘stank’.
I hope you know how intelligent your pets and all animals are. They are also a good judge of people. If they are comfortable and trust you enough to do as Gunner does then you must be a worthwhile person. They know the people to fear and the ones to love. I would not like being in a world where I was feared by all the animals.
I hope you have a productive day today. If you are out and about doing a little shopping stop by the Kentucky Artisans at the Saddle Factory on 4th Street in Russellville. It is open from 10:00AM-5:00PM. I will be there from 1:30 – 5:00. It is a nice shop and has lots of gift ideas. Today I will leave you with something Mother Teresa said, “The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.” Enjoy Melanie
