Moving day.

Have you ever had a time when you were going to re-do a room so, you think, ‘this is a good time to sort things’?   I don’t consider myself a hoarder but, I do tend to hang onto some things that have sentimental value and, after a while, you have a lot of ‘stuff’.  You tell yourself that it is a good time to  keep some things and getting rid of others.  It is just like when you are moving.  This is a hard thing for me to do.  There are some things that I will never let go of and my children will have to make that decision after I am gone.

Do you like books?  I love books and I have a lot of them.  When we opened our little library I gave a bunch of them to the library.  It is really hard for me to let go of them because they are like old friends.  While I was sorting this time I found some books that I need to read again. I found another one that had a poem in it that my Mom had written to me when I was pregnant with my first child. When you do give them away, if you can find a home for them because people use electronic devices now instead of a paper book, it is like you are sending them out into the unknown.  Where will they end up?  Will someone love them, as I did, or will they use them to start a fire?

I have written a couple of books.  This is the cover from the first one that is dedicated to my Grandson  I actually wrote it when he was three years old but, it took me twenty years to publish it.  Tomorrow is Sunday November 4th.  If you are out and about between 2:00 and 4:00PM you might drop by the Books To Go Library in Lewisburg and help us celebrate our 5th anniversary of being open.  We would love to see you.

Whatever you do today, even if it rains, make it your best effort and remember: To accomplish great things, we must not only act but also dream, not only plan but believe.- Anatole France  Melanie

  1. I would love to read the poem Granny wrote you. I really did not know she did that.
